Program Summary

The academy helps teams apply globally respected frameworks in ways that work locally. Participants learn how to operationalize International Financial Reporting Standards, International Public Sector Accounting Standards, the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations control model, ISO-aligned risk and information security practices, and results-based management. Each concept is translated into practical artifacts such as policies, control checklists, monitoring plans, and templates that fit the organization’s systems and regulatory context. Delivery is available in Lagos and Abuja, or virtually.

Who this training is for

Finance leaders, internal auditors, risk and compliance officers, procurement and contract managers, program managers, controllers, and information technology stakeholders across public sector entities, state-owned enterprises, regulators, higher education institutions, development partners, and private organizations that must demonstrate alignment with global standards.

Challenges it addresses

It replaces fragmented or outdated policies, standardizes interpretation of requirements, improves the accessibility of evidence for audits and reviews, reduces dependency on a few experts, and ensures training is practical rather than theoretical.

Key outcomes

Audit and review outcomes improve because evidence is standardized, control failures decline as responsibilities and frequencies are explicit, risk identification and monitoring become disciplined, procurement integrity is strengthened, and budgeting and performance reporting are easier to compare across units. Credibility with international partners rises because practices align with recognized standards and are demonstrably in use.

Format and duration

Core delivery runs three to five days, depending on cohort size and elective choices, delivered on site in Lagos or Abuja, or virtually. Optional implementation sprints and monthly office hours support teams for up to two months after the academy. A train-the-trainer stream is available for nominated participants.

Capstone and deliverables

A best-practices roadmap with milestones and measures, a redlined policy or procedure, a control matrix and monitoring plan for a high-risk process, a starter risk register, a data asset and access register, a procurement integrity checklist with bid templates, a communication and training plan, and a facilitator kit for internal trainers.
